2010 Annual Photography Contest
The Person County Recreations Arts and Parks is proud to announce the annual 2010 Photo Contest. This contest is open to all of the community and requires no entry fee. We encourage anyone who wants to submit their best photos to participate in this annual contest. Gift certificates from the Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce will be given to all winners in their respective showings. Entries will be accepted starting January 6, 7, 8 at the Kirby Gallery, 213 N Main Street, Roxboro between the hours of 1 – 5pm. Interested photographers are instructed to bring their entries to the Gallery at the times listed in the rules below. Copies of the rules may be picked up in advance.

2010 PHOTO CONTEST RULES
1. Participant may enter as many categories as desired; although only two (2) photographs per category are allowed.
2. The size of the photograph (not including frame) must be between 4”x6” and 19”x26”, unless in the scenic category which may be a panoramic photo.
3. There are no age limit specifications, although the entered photo must have been taken by the registered participant.
4. Only one photo per frame is allowed.
5. Color copies of photos are allowed, but graphically altered photos will not be accepted.
6. The Person County Parks and Recreation Department and Kirby Gallery reserve the right to reject any photo for any reason.
7. Entries must be registered at The Kirby Gallery at 213 North Main Street no later than January 6, 7, 8 2010 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Photos will hang for the month with entries picked up no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 28 or Friday, January 29th, 2010 .
8. This entry form below must be attached to the back of the photograph and there must be an entry form on each photograph.
9. PHOTOS MUST BE FRAMED AND MUST HAVE ATTACHED HANGING WIRE OR A HOOK ON THE BACK. PHOTO MUST BE EQUIPPED TO HANG ON THE WALL TO BE DISPLAYED AND JUDGED.
10. Any photos that were in the contest and won any prize last year are not eligible for this year’s contest. Any photos from previous years that did not place in the top three of their category are eligible.
11. Each participant must reside within Person County or meet non-resident guidelines.
12. The Person County Parks and Recreation Department and Kirby Gallery are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged photos, frames, etc. You enter the photos at your own risk.
CATEGORIES Black and White, Portrait, Scenic, Animal, and Open
In the BLACK & WHITE category, the photo must be black and white.
In the PORTRAIT category, the subject of the photo must be a person (s).
In the SCENIC category, the photo must be a landscape or panoramic image of a scene.
In the ANIMAL category, the subject of the photo must be an animal (s).
In the OPEN category the photo may be of any subject.
The tag below MUST be attached to the back of EACH photograph.
