Michael Brown hails from Carrboro, NC and has many large
mural works throughout North Carolina and beyond. Many of his pieces can
be see throughout the city of Chapel Hill, NC and the Streets of South
Point in Durham, NC. His attention to detail combined with his many
years of expertise makes him one of the finest Mural Artists in this
part of the United States.
This Mural depicts the city of
Roxboro's Court House Square as it looked between the years 1920 -
1960. The building to the far right is what was the People's Bank of
Roxboro which is now a Green's Jewelry owned and operated by Ashley
Green. The Center structure is the Person County Court House
that looks the same as it did when it was originally built in the
20's. The far left building is what was the Jones Hotel that stood
from the end of the 1800's to about 1960.
This project was made possible by a
private benefactor in memory of Moses Jones who was a strong community
leader from the late 1800's.
