Summer Arts Camps


Drama Camp

Director: Fred Motley

 Ages 8- 16

Description:

Youth will learn the basics of theater discipline through

skits, theatrical exercises, and improvisation. Camp will be

directed by Mr. Motley.

Register by: July 18, 5:00 at the Kirby Gallery

Dates: July 28 – August 1 

Time: 9 – 12pm

Summer Youth Theater

"The Good Times Are Killing Me"

For ages 13-18

Director: Fred Motley

 Description:

 This is a full play with costumes, props, and scenery. It involves rehearsals scheduled for every week night through the dates indicated below. Scheduling for the week of July 4th will be flexible to accommodate summer family vacations.

2 Audition Sessions: June 28, 9:30AM – 12PM & June 30, 6:00PM / Kirby Theater

Rehearsal dates: July 1 – 26, 6:30 – 9pm / Kirby Theater

Performances: July 25-26, 7:30pm

All Rehearsals and performances: Kirby Theater

Play to be announced at later time by Director

No fee


Summer Children’s Theater

For ages 8– 12

Director: Casey Buchanan

Description:

This is a fun and intense for your young one to be involved in a full play with costuming, props, and scenery.  Children will learn how to interact, and relate to each other through theater disciplines that translate into everyday tools for the future.

Rehearsal dates: August 4 – August 16, 12PM – 4:00PM

Performances: August 15 at 7:00pm & August 16 at 11:00am

All Rehearsals and Performances: Kirby Theater

Summer Guitar Camp

For Ages: 11 – 18

Min 6 – Max 12

Teacher: Michael Thompson

 Description:

This camp is designed for the beginning guitarist. Students will learn the basic chords, strumming, and fingering techniques that will enable them to play many songs of their choosing for years to come. Work books, and music stands will be supplied. Students are only required to have their own guitars.

Summer Private Piano Lessons

For ages: 9 - 18

Teacher: Bonnie Montague 

Description:

Private lessons for beginning, intermediate, and advance students. Students will need

to purchase music as suggested by instructor.

Lessons will be scheduled on an individual basis.

 Location: The Kirby Gallery, 213 N Main St.

Fee: $20 per Half Hour

$35 per Full Hour

Voice Class

with Anna Reniers

Description:

This class is for the young singer who wants to learn the basics of singing, a little history about music, and how to read notes on the music staff. The class will be taught by Anna Reniers. Mrs. Reniers has a masters degree in voice and has taught in the USA and abroad.

Description:

Private lessons for beginning, intermediate, and advance students. Students will need to purchase music as suggested by instructor. Since returning from Belgium where she was a vocal instructor and performer for over thirty year, Mrs. Reniers is a strong teacher of vocal technique, literature, and performance etiquette.  

 Lessons will be scheduled on an individual basis.

Fee: $20 per Half Hour

$35 per Full Hour
